About the positions:

Audience services associates will execute the operations of the audience experience at the theatre through either box office services, house management, or a combination of both. The positions in audience services are essential in keeping patrons, volunteers, and customers connected and coming back. This is a part-time position up to 20 hrs/wk, primarily in the evenings. This is a great position for either the skilled House Manager, or aspiring theatre professionals.

$15/hr, can work as few as 5 hours or as many as 20. Available shifts are Wed-Sat evenings and Sunday matinees.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to deal with unexpected challenges quickly, calmly and efficiently
  • Ability to answer questions and resolve discrepancies as they arise
  • Strong understanding of all front of house operations, and ability to effectively explain them to volunteers

Responsibilities:

Box Office Associate

  • Reports to the Front of House Manager
  • Using a point of sale system to conduct transactions
  • Reconciling sales reports
  • Sales and attendance tracking
  • Communicating effectively with the House Manager
  • Working with volunteers
  • Closely following procedures and practices
  • Is present at the theatre from set up until after curtain

House Manager

  • Reports to Front of House Manager
  • Closely following procedures and practices
  • Opening and closing the theatre lobby
  • Light cleaning tasks
  • Training volunteers
  • Communicating effectively with the Stage Manager
  • Navigating the flow of the crowd from entering the building to sitting in the theatre
  • Responding quickly and calmly in an emergency
  • Strong understanding of emergency procedures
  • “Reading the room” and anticipating the needs of patrons
  • Monitoring the hall and lobby area during performances
  • Is present from set up to closing the theatre
