Box Office Manager
ABOUT PROFILE
Founded in 1997, Profile Theatre is one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in the state. Profile Theatre centers an entire season of first class productions and community engagement activities through the lens of the season-long Featured Playwright, whose unique vision broadens our perspective on the world and deepens our collective compassion. We do this through large-scale professional productions, our expansive In Dialogue program, the Playwrights Residency, and our signature Community Profile program. Profile has grown to be one of the most well-regarded theaters in Portland, with a reputation for bringing intelligence, excellence and passion to the stage.
POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Box Office Manager is the primary staff member interacting with patrons purchasing tickets, with Members who need to select dates and seats, and at special Member events. The Box Office Manager also supports the Director of Communications as the primary patron information technology manager via Profile’s CRM, and facilitates group sales including Affinity Nights, Alumni Nights and other group sales as come up. The Box Office Manager collaborates with the Front of House Manager to ensure they have all needed information regarding the attendance of each performance.
Profile Theatre values a non-siloed workspace in which staff members support one another across departments. Profile Theatre staff all work towards several organizational goals: to produce high-level artistic events, to achieve financial stability and maintain fiscal transparency, and to develop and deepen relationships in our community.
Specific duties include:
- Answer sales and information requests through Comcast Business (mobile app or landline) and email correspondence for boxoffice@profiletheatre.org (G Suite)
- Sell tickets and memberships or process donations utilizing the MonkeyPod CRM and Salesforce Patron Manager.
- Works within and manages Box Office Budget.
- Identify, hire, train and manage Box Office Overhire.
- Collaborate with Front of House and Stage Management staff to ensure a timely and enjoyable experience for the Profile Community.
- Build all ticketed events and seasons in Eventbrite
- Build subscription/membership packages in MonkeyPod and/or PatronManager.
- Fulfill ticket requests, membership ticket benefits, complementary tickets, and other single ticket sales for all Profile Theatre Events, including fundraisers.
- Maintain patron data in both MonkeyPod and PatronManager Build all ticketed events and seasons.
- Build Membership packages.
- Update website and ticketing platform as needed.
- Possibly work Box Office shifts at Profile productions or events, if needed and as schedule permits.
- Some evening and weekend hours are required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Customer service, technology, problem solving, friendly, outgoing, interested in advancement in arts administration.

The Box Office Manager is compensated at a rate of $20/hr.
LOCATION
This position will be expected to report to the Profile Theatre office at 216 NW 13th Ave, or remotely from home with own equipment as mutually negotiated with the company.
SCHEDULE
The Box Office Manager is projected to work 20 hours a week. At least half of this time is expected to be in the office. The rest of the time may be worked remotely with set hours. In between seasons (usually summer), there is the potential to flex down some. While this is a daytime position, the support of certain evening events like first reads, opening nights and the annual gala are required.
