Profile Theatre endeavors to be an organization that creates dynamic spaces for artists and community members to come together to create and experience great theatre, theatre that promotes empathy, introspection and a deepening of our shared humanity.

In recognition that this space is co-created, we as collaborators agree that:

1. Creativity requires Vulnerability:
We commit to cultivating a room comfortable enough for each participant to bring their full self into the space, with respect and courage, to be present for learning and challenges.


2. Reaching our creative heights requires a diversity of lived experiences, points of view, and differing opinions.
We commit to speaking from our own “I”, to honoring that each individual’s truth is valid, and to leaning in and listening our way through rich, constructive conflict.


3. All forms of racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and religious prejudice are unacceptable.
We commit to scaffolding a space absent of all forms of harm which prevent growth and well-being.

4. Anti-racism is an imperative for artistic integrity. It is not a passive stance but an active one. It’s not about what we don’t do but is about the choices we make and the actions we take.
We commit to acknowledging our missteps, to engaging in the necessary work of repair, and to building a healthy way forward together.

5. Anti-racism is a fluid stance not a static one. Where we stand today and how we work together, might not be the exact place we’re standing or the exact method of making art we use tomorrow.
We commit to working at our learning edges and to a responsive evolution of our practices, endeavoring to be at the forefront of anti-racist thought and practice.

6. We believe that these spaces allow for brave audacious choices.
It is our expectation that all artists engaging with us are similarly committed to equity, respect and the well-being of all collaborators, and that our decision to work together is a tacit agreement to abide by these commitments.
