Inside Out: Community and School Tour
Profile Theatre is proud to launch the inaugural year of its touring program, Inside Out. Following a full run on our main stage, My Children! My Africa! will tour to local high schools and community centers in the greater Portland area.
The touring production of the play is presented in full costume with props and a soundscape. We bring only minimal set pieces to suggest surroundings. This allows us to easily transport the production to its destination, allowing us to spend longer with students and less time in set-up and travelling. The production is followed by a conversation between the students and the cast.
Tour stops this spring include Grant High School, Prairie High School, La Salle College Prep, Metropolitan Learning Center and Roosevelt High School. The spring tour is fully booked. We are planning our fall tour now – please contact us if you are interested!
Open to the public: As part of our mission to bring theater to underserved communities, our performance at Roosevelt High School is free of charge and open to the public! This performance will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, May 14 in the Roosevelt Theater. This performance will also be ASL-interpreted for the deaf or hard-of-hearing audience.
Please contact Administrative Director Cindy Lyndin for more information.
Teacher Tickets: This season, we are offering free tickets to any school teacher in the Portland Metro Area for any of our productions. To order a Teacher Ticket, please email Cindy Lyndin indicating the name of your school, subject and level you teach, and which performance you would like to attend.
