Profile’s Hands On Theatre Program offers programs to local middle and high schools with limited or no access to theater arts. The Hands On Theatre Program is an in-depth residency in which Profile places a trained teaching artist in the school to direct students in a fully staged production of a play by the playwright that Profile is presenting that season, or in a play which touches on similar themes to that of our featured writer’s work. Profile works with schools to determine rehearsal times (during the school day or after-school) and performance dates.

What is especially unique about this program is that students are involved in all aspects of the production including set design and construction, sound design, lighting design and operation, acting, stage management and directing.

To provide students participating in the Hands On Theatre Program with a full theater experience, Profile arranges student matinee performances throughout the season either at our theater or at the school via our Inside Out: Community and School Tour program. These performances are also provided at no charge to the schools. In addition, schools can opt to host post-show discussions with the cast and crew.

Please contact Administrative Director Cindy Lyndin for more information.

Teacher Tickets: This season, we are offering free tickets to any school teacher in the Portland Metro Area for any of our performances. To order a Teacher Ticket, please email Cindy Lyndin indicating the name of your school, subject and level you teach, and which performance you would like to attend.
